Education Day

updated: March 25, 2008

Proudly Sponsored by: Panago Pizza

By INVITATION ONLY.

Brooklin Spring Fair’s Education Day is an excellent opportunity for Grade 3 students to discover how agriculture impacts their daily lives.

This year’s fair theme is “Farmyard Heroes” - celebrating the heroes in our agricultural community from the animals to the farmers and everything in between. As part of our Education Day program, your class is invited to come discover the amazing agricultural community that exists within Durham Region. Students will learn about cows, chickens, pigs, goats, and sheep, while also having the opportunity to meet local farmers.  The students will learn about current farming practices and participate in live milking and sheep sheering demonstrations.  They will get to hear an interactive presentation on environmental stewardship presented by “Earth Rangers” and have an opportunity to view the entries in the Homecraft Competition.

Our Education Day program is designed to reinforce the Grade 3 curriculum and allow students the opportunity to apply their learning to real life situations. Please refer to the following page to view Curriculum Connections as well as the timetable for the day.
