Message from the 2007 Ambassador

updated: March 25, 2008

It was the worst of times, it was the best of times...actually cross out the first part it was only the best of times.  Hello my name is Nicole Pacheco and I am your 2007 Brooklin Spring Fair Ambassador.  Throughout my reign I had a splendid time getting to meet new people and embark on new adventures.  The most memorable part of this whole experience was being crowned as the Ambassador at the fair on Opening Night.  Surrounded by friends and family and knowing that I got to spend the rest of the weekend enjoying the fair from a whole new perspective.  Other highlights included assisting with the Baby Contest and the ever popular Demolition Derby in which I got to hand out trophies to the winners.  My experience at the fair that weekend is one that is indescribable, to be able to represent the town I have grown to love my whole life and share the experience with so many locals.

The Brooklin Spring Fair is an event that highlights our town, you can ask almost anyone in Brooklin, heck probably anyone from Durham Region what happens the first weekend in June and I am sure a smile would come across their face as they say, "The Brooklin Spring Fair".

When I think of the Brooklin Spring Fair and reflect on what it means to our town and to myself I think of how it brings people together.  There is something for everyone.

Throughout my experience as Ambassador it has been remarkable meeting new people especially at the O.A.A.S. Convention in Toronto.  I got to meet other Ambassadors from all over Ontario.  The experience I had seeing the fair from a different perspective really shed light on how much work goes into organizing the fair and how many volunteers are needed to do this.  Thank you to all of those who have helped with the fair - it will go a long way in creating some of the greatest memories for people all over Ontario and perhaps even further away!

In closing I want to thank everyone for their support and I look forward to representing the best fair and town ever at the C.N.E. this August!

May the Fair be with you!

Nicole Pacheco
